"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men;"
- Colossians 3:23
Another typical morning, wake, shower, forget to shave, dress and drive, but something this morning caught my eye.
It was a little thing, really, and not something most would find all that interesting, but it gave me pause and made me reflect, so I thought I'd share it with the world.

Went outside for a second today and saw the strangest thing. A hawk (falcon? I'm sure some birdwatcher will comment and tell me) appears to have totally destroyed a Bluejay.
Pretty rare sight in the city proper, I think - and this Hawk was seriously unafraid of me. I snapped a few decent pics, but when I went a little too close he looked at me, made a noise and picked up the lifeless body of the other bird and took off.
I'm not a big fan of Bluejays anyway. Yes, they are kind of pretty, but they are loud, obnoxious birds who drive away other birds. I figure if you must drive away others, let it be because you're the Hawk. Silent, confident and deadly when need be.
On another note - I added our pics menu item for registered users today - it uses flickr, which I've just joined, so expect the content to grow more in the future. {sharethis} |

Integrity is such a misunderstood virtue. Like a starving artist, penniless before death who upon passing becomes the new Michelangelo, integrity goes quite unnoticed until it is gone. Mostly, I think the reason for that is the simple misconception that integrity is honesty.
In fact, at my office, where integrity is a behavior rated on performance reviews, most people simply check 'meets' if their employees haven't lied (or been suspected of lying) and move on down the road.
However, integrity is so much more than simple honesty. It's about doing the right thing for the right reasons. Sometimes that can be hard to pin down, but it's important to think of it these terms. Honesty is a very straightforward thing. Tell the truth. Not too hard. Integrity asks harder questions. Do you follow the letter of the rule, but not the intent? Do you learn the system thoroughly not so that you might embrace it, but so you can manipulate it?

We are in early talks to build a new ADHD resource site that would combine articles, forums, support groups, and a unique online behavior modification tool that has proven highly successful for our son. Once built, parents and educators will be able to utilize most of the site tools for free, and the behavior system for a low 10 dollar a month fee. We expect this site to make an enormous difference for parents and educators who deal with ADHD and other behavior disorders.
